The Stumptown Tractor Club was started in 1995 with 30 members to preserve & restore antique tractors, power & antique farm equipment. The club has grown to 75 members, and was incorporated March 7, 2003. The Corporations activities have included restoration of tractors, participation in out of town antique equipment events and collaboration with many not-for-profit organizations to demonstrate the importance of farming equipment. The Corporation's primary event is the Killian Farm Antique Tractor & Engine Show, an annual 3-day affair held during the month of October in Denver, NC. Attractions and events are scheduled for children & adults. Attractions include display & demonstration of antique tractors, hit and miss engines, steam engines, saws mills, shingle mill, pea thrashing & seed cleaning, kiddie tractor pull, sack races, lawn mower pull, antique tractor pull, antique race cars, blue grass band & more. Safety demonstrations offer education to the public include the proper way to sharpen tools, operate saws, eye and hearing protection, tractor and equipment operation and safety tips. Public safety is of the utmost importance, and local fire departments and Emergency Medical Services are on site. Stumptown Tractor supports the local Habitat For Humanity by providing meals for the needy in Huntersville and Denver, North Carolina. This effort occurs annually in December.
